I really love WhyNote, it’s a great application, and I’m genuinely glad to hear there’s an update on the way.
As for your question about pricing: I’d personally love for it to be free, of course, who wouldn’t? But I also recognise that building something like this takes time, energy, and care, and I absolutely believe you should be rewarded for that work.
That said, I think pricing should stay affordable and, ideally, not go down the subscription route. If someone wants to own the app, they should be able to just own it. No limitations, no constant renewals. Something simple and fair.
For me, something like $5 feels spot on. I’ve seen apps that charge twice the price that don’t offer half the usability or thoughtful design WhyNote already has. It’s clean, focused, and does exactly what it promises, with a kind of ease that clearly took effort to build.
Mr. E! This is so cool to see. I am happy to see that the app is gaining traction! Love that Ivan jumped in to help too, excellent news to round the app up and polish it more.
Personally, I’d be totally fine with a small price tag. You’ve put time, heart, and energy into it. Maybe you could either post the app for free and add a “donate” button or post it in the App Store with a reasonable price. Or maybe free and “pro” versions? The free version with the basics and the “pro” unlocks other features.
The only thing that makes me sad is that this app only works on Mac :(, I only have a PC.
God bless mr. E! Have a lovely rest of your Sunday :).
I like WhyNote and think it's a great looking app. I do wish I could include hyperlinks in the text, though, so I can better copy/paste text I write in one app into, say, an email without weird paragraph breaks/etc.
Congratulations on this great news. The app is not compatible with the 2020 Intel MacBook Pro 13", sadly. I need an app like this one. It does not appear in the security settings either. The error message I get is:
You can’t open the application “WhyNote.app” because this application is not supported on this Mac.

Looking forward to what’s next for it.
I couldn’t have said it better myself. Perfect response there!

Charge small fee is okay! Support!
I would love for it to be free, but I don’t mind paying a small fee to own it. No subscription though.

I’d be perfectly happy to pay $1.99 USD.
To have better reach it will be good to add your app to producthunt.com pre launch. There is high chance people interested in the app to be reached.
