After looking for a Handheld for more convenience during play a game i got stick with a logitech g cloud. It's not the most powerful thing out there, but it feels so good holding it, does the streaming job really well, has a nice display and loooong battery live. And sometimes i plug in my Xreal One Glasses for even more fun.
My kids have a PS5 and a Switch and they use both of them (Specially because of the Mario games and if a game is cheaper in the Switch than on the PS5). I am waiting for Switch 2 to come out. For gaming that needs more power, I also have a PC and use Steamlink app on the AppleTV.
But I do agree with what you said, mobile gaining is the way to go when having little time to play
I never thought I'd be so excited for a new Switch, sir 🙂 I believe the magic lies in the relationship and love that is established with the kids during those times.

You just convinced me to give it a try too 🙂 How long does the battery last in real life?

Totally! The Switch, or whatever console you use is just the “medium”, having fun and spending time with the kids is the objective :).
